American Parakeet or English Budgie?

Both the American Parakeet and the English Budgie (as it is known) are from the same species. The only difference is the English Budgie is bred for size to make them more desireable for exibition purposes. Both the American and English parakeets make great pets and with little effort can become your best friend.

American Parakeets This is one of my pairs of American Parakeets. The Green bird in the photo is a male named Frisco, and the turquoise one is a female named Pixie. They are about 2 years old and have produced many babies that look just like them.

English Budgie (male shown) This photo shows one of our English Budgies, this is our male named Raider. He is about 1 1/2 years old and is currently in the process of mating with our blue female.
